Job Title:  Director, AI Execution & Operations

 

Position Overview

The Director, AI Execution & Operations is a full-time hybrid role based in Atlanta, Georgia. This position is responsible for turning Cox Media Group's AI strategy into measurable business outcomes through the successful execution, adoption, governance, and operationalization of AI initiatives across the enterprise.

 

This role serves as the operational leader for CMG's enterprise AI initiatives, partnering with business, technology, and cross-functional AI stakeholders to drive adoption, coordinate execution, and accelerate value realization across the organization.

 

The ideal candidate brings firsthand experience implementing enterprise AI programs and understands both the opportunities and challenges of AI adoption at scale. They have helped organizations deploy, govern, enable, support, measure, and expand AI capabilities, and can leverage those experiences to help CMG accelerate adoption, scale successful outcomes, and avoid common implementation pitfalls. They combine strong operational leadership with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset, bringing curiosity, practical AI expertise, and a willingness to explore new ideas, experiment, and apply AI to solve real business challenges.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

AI Strategy Execution & Delivery

  • Execute and operationalize the enterprise AI strategy and roadmap.
  • Coordinate and support AI initiatives across business and technology teams, establishing repeatable execution and deployment models that enable successful adoption and scale across business units.
  • Track milestones, dependencies, risks, and business outcomes across the AI portfolio.
  • Identify and resolve execution risks, dependencies, and implementation barriers.
  • Ensure AI initiatives align with defined business objectives and success measures.

 

AI Adoption, Enablement & Change Leadership

  • Develop and coordinate enterprise AI adoption strategies in partnership with business leaders, AI champions, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by sharing AI best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations that help scale successful outcomes.
  • Partner with AI champions, business stakeholders, and cross-functional AI leaders to build, support, and expand CMG's AI Champion Network.
  • Coordinate communications, awareness campaigns, webinars, and employee engagement activities.
  • Partner with business leaders to support adoption and embed AI into day-to-day workflows.
  • Coordinate AI training, workshops, office hours, and enablement programs to accelerate adoption across the organization.
  • Create adoption playbooks, implementation guidance, best practices, FAQs, and success stories.
  • Establish mechanisms for gathering employee feedback and measuring adoption effectiveness.
  • Identify and address barriers preventing AI adoption and sustained usage.
  • Promote sharing of successful use cases and lessons learned across business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (continued)

Analytics, Reporting & Value Realization

  • Define and maintain AI adoption, utilization, productivity, and value realization metrics.
  • Develop executive dashboards, scorecards, and operational reporting frameworks.
  • Measure productivity improvements, operational efficiencies, and business impact generated by AI initiatives.
  • Establish methodologies for tracking ROI and benefits realization.
  • Monitor adoption trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare executive reporting on AI performance, adoption, and business outcomes.
  • Validate and communicate success stories and realized business value across the organization.

 

AI Operational Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on enterprise AI execution, operationalization, adoption, and scaling.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to identify opportunities, experiment with new approaches, and apply AI capabilities to solve practical business challenges and improve business outcomes.
  • Foster collaboration across teams pursuing AI initiatives to encourage knowledge sharing, consistency, and reuse of successful practices and solutions.
  • Monitor emerging AI capabilities and industry practices, applying lessons learned and recommending improvements to adoption approaches, governance processes, and operating models.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize and simplify AI deployment and support processes.
  • Help business leaders successfully integrate AI into existing workflows and operating models.

AI Operations & Governance Coordination

  • Manage AI intake, evaluation, prioritization support, and execution tracking processes.
  • Support and coordinate governance reviews, stakeholder discussions, and decision-making activities in partnership with established governance bodies, business leaders, and AI stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of AI policies, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Partner with Technology, Security, Legal, and HR stakeholders to ensure compliance with established governance frameworks.
  • Maintain AI operational documentation, reporting, and decision records.
  • Develop scalable operational processes that support long-term AI growth and enterprise adoption.
  • Ensure governance decisions are implemented consistently across AI initiatives

 

Stakeholder Partnership & Collaboration

  • Partner with business AI leaders, champions, and stakeholders to support department-specific AI initiatives, share best practices, and accelerate adoption across the organization.
  • Facilitate collaboration and build strong partnerships across business and technology teams to accelerate AI adoption and value realization.
  • Maintain consistent executive communication and reporting cadences.
  • Manage operational relationships with AI vendors, consultants, implementation partners, and service providers.
  • Support evaluation and implementation planning for new AI solutions and capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education, professional experience, certifications, and demonstrated success leading technology transformation, AI adoption, operational excellence, automation, and organizational change will be considered.
  • 5+ years of relevant work in technology, AI adoption, operational leadership, change management, enterprise program execution, business operations, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives with executive visibility and measurable business outcomes.
  • Natural curiosity and a track record of applying technology, automation, or AI to solve business problems and improve operational outcomes.
  • Track record of translating business needs into practical AI-enabled solutions and operational improvements.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and applying Microsoft Copilot, AI agents, automation, or related AI technologies in a business environment.
  • Deploying, governing, supporting, or driving adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot and related AI capabilities, or comparable AI platforms.
  • Leading or supporting enterprise AI, Generative AI, automation, digital transformation, or technology modernization initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partnering across business, technology, vendor, and executive stakeholder groups to successfully execute AI initiatives and drive business value.
  • Driving technology adoption, communications, stakeholder engagement, and AI enablement programs.
  • Building executive reporting, KPI frameworks, operational dashboards, and business performance metrics.
  • Measuring AI utilization, productivity gains, business impact, and value realization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience building and scaling solutions using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Azure AI, AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, or similar AI platforms.
  • Experience establishing AI governance, adoption, enablement, or value realization frameworks.
  • Knowledge of enterprise AI governance, security, risk management, and responsible AI principles.
  • Experience scaling AI initiatives from pilot programs into ongoing business operations.
  • Understanding of enterprise integrations, APIs, connectors, and business process automation.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform technologies, including Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Ability to translate strategic objectives into scalable operational execution.
  • Background in media, broadcasting, advertising technology, revenue technology, or digital operations.
