Job Title:  Traffic Coordinator - WSOC TV

 

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Traffic Coordinator or an outgoing self-starter to work in our Traffic department at WSOC-TV. This candidate can work effectively with all the departments at our television station and be flexible in an ever-changing environment. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, knows how to build successful relationships, can take direction as well as work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Able to manage M-F logs, clearing displaced spots using the stations parameters on rate, priorities and client flight dates
  • Responsible for separating competing advertisers and products for a professional on-air look.
  • Generate daily “missing material” report for multiple days, process commercial instructions for local and national accounts, maintain copy files for active and inactive commercial instructions
  • Able to monitor both local and Network program grids to ensure program schedules are up to date, understand promotional requirements and the ability to read program formats
  • Communicate directly with the Account Executives concerning the clearance and parameters of each advertiser.
  • Distribute the broadcast logs/files to Master Control and appropriate department in the building.
  • Provide daily traffic dub lists to Master Control
  • Communicate directly with Master Control on any “same day” changes
  • Able to provide vacation relief to other Traffic Team members, experience preferred but will provide training.
  • Attend weekly Sales meetings

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or work equivalent
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and multi-task, able to prioritize responsibilities in order to meet daily deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to successfully manage large volume of daily emails
  • Excellent computer skills – full command of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills, in person, on phone and written
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-4 years previous TV or Radio Traffic Experience
  • At least 1 year Wide Orbit experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or University
