Job Title:  Design Director - WHIO TV

 

Position Overview

WHIO TV Dayton is looking for a Design Director who will be responsibe for brand management, creative design development and overall design support for Cox Media Group Ohio brands.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Creative Services and Marketing on creative direction for all design projects to protect and evolve existing brands and establish new visual styles
  • Develop style guides, design logos, and provide a wide variety of graphic elements that align with company goals
  • Oversee graphic project execution, collaborating with creative producers, news, sales, engineering, management and the corporate graphics team
  • Design video animations, print ads, digital ads, billboards, social media posts
  • Lead the care and keeping of established design work
  • Offer a unique style and the ability to convey effective messaging through design 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience designing graphics and providing creative direction in a professional setting
  • A flexible and collaborative nature
  • Excellent design skills including typography, layout principles and motion graphics  
  • A masterful knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Desire to learn and evolve with changing technologies and styles
  • An outstanding portfolio of graphic design work
