Position Overview

The Lifestyle Executive Producer will be responsible for producing content for on-air and digital for an hour-long weekday lifestyle show on Boston 25. The role will be responsible for managing a team of producers, photographers, host(s), reporters, editors, and writers. The person in this job must be a quick-moving innovator that can manage a team to meet deadlines and understand how to work in the entertainment/lifestyle space in developing great entertainment and lifestyle content. This role must also be a key contributor with the sales department in developing marketing concepts with clients and the ability to present these ideas. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lifestyle Show & Branding – 80% 

  • Works with team daily to produce the lifestyle/entertainment content for on-air and digital. 
  • Creates and drive strategies to grow audience and revenue on all platforms. 
  • Works with Creative Services team to market show and develop brand. 
  • Works with news production staff to get segments taped and get show live to air. 
  • Ability to optimize brand and audience research across all platforms to drive opportunities for growth. 
  • Financial accountability for managing department budget. Working with your team and finance department to allocate resources properly. 
  • Develops ideas and content with sales team for lifestyle client integration and packaging. 
  • Hiring and continual training and development of a lifestyle content team. 
  • Responsible for producing and writing lifestyle/entertainment daily content. 
  • Works with news team to integrate weather, additional content and breaking news in brand. 
  • Must be intimate with writing in the lifestyle space, rundown, story count and placement for shows. 
  • Knows how to work with research department and implement research findings. 
  • Oversees all scheduled shoots, host interview, client integration and editing of show. 
  • Achieves all quarterly and annual goals for impressions and revenue.

Organizational – 20% 

  • Set work schedules to include time-off for lifestyle department and maintain show calendar. 
  • Manages deadlines to ensure and drive projects to completion. 
  • Maintains department’s budget and expenses. 
  • Recruits, develops, and retains a strong sales team; provides guidance and coaching to maximize their performance and accelerate their professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five or more years in newsroom management or lifestyle EP/Producer Experience. 
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation and writing skills. 
  • Experience in managing digital media brands. 
  • Proven ability to attract/hire, develop and retain high caliber talent to ensure deep bench strength in key areas of business.  
  • Must be knowledgeable on current affairs, lifestyle trends and travel. 
  • Proven track record in quickly adopting new concepts and lead a team in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Journalism, Communications preferred) 
  • Experience in New England a plus
