On-Air Personality/Music Director - San Antonio Radio

Position Overview

Cox Media Group San Antonio is looking for an On Air Personality and Music Director (Classic Hits). The ideal candidate would also be considered for APD or MD responsibilities where you will be responsible for working with the Program Director to develop and execute the strategy for the station. The individual must have an intimate understanding of the stations’ 25-54 life group and be able to collaborate on the programming and design to that audience’s evolving desires and habits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other departments on all aspects of the radio station including on-air content, events, promotions, contesting, and digital presence.
• Create an engaging and topical daily morning show.
• Attend weekly promotions meeting to discuss ongoing and upcoming station events
• Meet weekly with manager to review on air and station sound
• Deliver strong digital content across station website and social media channels

Minimum Qualifications

• Track record of success in PPM rated markets.
• Track record of PPM success with a content driven show.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Computer skills for audio delivery and automations systems, such as WideOrbit, Adobe Audition etc.
• Extensive digital experience with station web sites, social media, and mobile.
• Proven leadership and management skills, strategic thinking skills and the ability to communicate a clear vision while motivating and inspiring those around them.
• Understanding of PPM audience measurement, FCC rules and regulations, and will have the proven ability to work together with the sales and promotions to create opportunities that generate revenue.
• Experience with event management, image copy writing, a deep knowledge and understanding of music scheduling and effective digital engagement are required.
• Experience with music scheduling using Music Master software
• Strong work ethic and ability to work with an awesome team already in place.

• Flexibility and ability to wear more than one hat to get the job done
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
