Position Overview

KIRO 7 Seattle is looking for an experienced candidate to supervise and manage our locally produced programming, promotional campaigns, and client commercial production. The candidate must be able to manage tight deadlines without sacrificing quality or creativity, deliver concepts, write scripts, shoot video, shepherd clients, create graphics and distribute a quality finished product. We are looking for an outgoing self-starter, to assist our sales team at KIRO 7. Our ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and take charge of their position. The Commercial Producer will be able to conceptualize and execute locally produced programming, promotional campaigns, and commercial production. We are seeking someone who can tell stories through the creative use of video and graphics. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work effectively with all the departments at our television station and be flexible in an ever-changing environment. You will be asked to communicate with agencies, clients and the Sales Department. The ideal candidate has great attention to detail, knows how to build successful relationships, can take direction as well as work independently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conceive, develop and produce creative segments, promos, and commercial content.
  • Manage multiple creative assignments in a hands-on fashion at all stages of development, from project start through post production
  • Create and manage workflows, production schedules and project deadlines
  • Create and achieve target budget for commercial production revenue
  • Brainstorm with clients on their advertising needs on multiple platforms
  • Support all sales projects on behalf of station
  • Write, schedule, shoot and post-produce client productions
  • Coordinate with voice over talent, actors, makeup artists, station talent and freelance production teams
  • Troubleshoot with both clients and sales staff to achieve production goals
  • Manage retails services production budgets
  • Research and stay up to date on new and current standards in storytelling, shooting, graphic design, editing techniques and marketing to produce market-leading creative
  • Write scripts, shoot video and edit spots
  • Create graphics to support spot production
  • Work closely with design department to convey additional graphics needs for projects
  • Direct talent (voice-over and other)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
  • Minimum five (5) years in a broadcast retail or promotion production
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.). Avid experience a plus
  • Expert in lighting and production techniques
  • Proficient in multiple photography/videography formats including DSLR and Canon Cinema products
  • Ability to use motion graphics (After Effects, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask many projects at one time
  • Must be flexible and able to adjust to the changing demands of our environment
  • Very organized and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization

 

The wage scale for this position is $35.00 per hour to $37.71 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors such as skills, certifications, and relevant work experience.
